Feeding Program

Akilokony CBO feeds children with a warm and nutritious meal daily (5 days a week). For nearly all of these children, the school meal is the only meal of the day. Malnutrition during the first 1000 days irreversibly stunts body and brain. Parents struggle, many children are orphaned. We provide meals to effectively change their future.

Education Program

Children in Turkana face lack of materials, sanitation, teachers. Girls' education breaks poverty cycle. We build classrooms, provide resources, install water pumps to reduce fetching distance, sensitize on education benefits, combat absenteeism.

Water Sanitation & Hygiene

Enhancing access to clean water through rainwater harvesting, boreholes, rehabilitating water pans. Ending open defecation through awareness. Promoting behavioral change to reduce cholera and diarrhea. Working with communities for lasting hygiene practices.

Women & Youth Empowerment

Seeking to reduce dependency syndrome. “Teach them to fish” – we give skills, income generation, business startup. Long‑term goal: build a community training Centre for vocational skills in a secure environment.

Scholarship Program

Even with “free” primary education, many families cannot afford uniforms, supplies. Scholarships cover school fees, uniforms, mentorship, life skills workshops – the most requested service in the community.
